2015 Pushor Mitchell Kelowna Apple Triathlon
The Apple Triathlon was my first Olympic distance race back in 1992. It remains, to this day, one of my favorites: held in a wonderful city, with great people, incredible scenery and with the generous support of the city, the people of Kelowna and the incredible volunteers. The National Team along with triathletes from all across Canada can’t wait to get to Kelowna, enjoy the sunshine, spend some money!!!! and go home to rave about your wonderful home in the Okanagan.
On Sunday I competed in Kelowna at the Nationals Champs, which is one of my favorite races of the season. I’ve done this race for the past 5 years, ever since my first year in triathlon, so I’m always excited to go back to a familiar course.
Congrats to all of the other girls and guys that raced this weekend, and thanks to the Apple triathlon crew for putting on another fantastic race.
I had a wonderful time at the triathlon, and really enjoyed my stay in Kelowna. I’m already looking forward to competing at the lake again in a few months. Thanks for sending me the medal- you made my day! I’ve never placed before, either in a running race or in a triathlon, so when I got home, checked the website, and discovered that I had earned a spot on the podium, I was quite thrilled.
I was at the Kelowna Triathlon this past weekend and just wanted to extend a sincere thankyou to the organizers and volunteers of the event. This was my 2nd Apple Triathlon (+ one rain out!) and both times I have been so impressed. Of the 30+ races I have done, including 3 World Championships, Kelowna remains my absolute favorite. The volunteers are second to none. They are all helpful, friendly, and just super!
Registration for our 2016 event will open later in the fall!
